Callippe Preserve Maintenance

The Callippe Preserve trail is an approximately 3-mile-long trail that traverses the Callippe Preserve Golf Course in the southern portion of Pleasanton, CA. The trail was professionally built over 10 years ago and meanders under large heritage oak trees, over vast graze land, and takes advantage of the steep hills surrounding the course to create fantastic vistas of the Tri Valley. After years of weather, ground squirrels, and deferred maintenance, the trail was no longer functional.

Pointe Strategies was contracted to perform maintenance on the natural-surface trail, including the repair of eroded trail sections, improving the trail for mountain bike use, minor grading to improve drainage, providing vegetation clearance, and filling ground squirrel holes in the trail. The trail tread was also reestablished to the original 48” tread to allow Parks and Rec staff maintenance and emergency access. This required heavy dirt work and reroutes along two stacked climbing turn sections.  Broken drainage features and infrastructure were also repaired or replaced.
