West Colfax Safety Project

The West Colfax Safety Project aims to transform the iconic West Colfax Avenue in Lakewood, Colorado, into a safer and more welcoming space for pedestrians, transit users, and motorists alike. Focusing on the corridor between Sheridan Boulevard and Teller Street, which has historically seen the highest concentration of traffic injuries and fatalities in Lakewood, the project employs a multi-faceted approach. This includes engineered solutions, community-driven ideas, and art installations, all working in concert to enhance safety.

Pointe Strategies played a pivotal role in leading the community and stakeholder engagement strategy, facilitating a diverse range of interactions. These included pop-up events, meetings with business owners, virtual and in-person gatherings, artist workshops, and targeted outreach to traditionally underrepresented groups. Additionally, Pointe Strategies spearheaded the development and maintenance of the project website, ensuring effective communication and information dissemination throughout the project's duration.
